Of the 186 students, who took the 30-question placement exam, sixty-five student was admitted into the Redwood MS Math Club. Of the students accepted into the program, the first quartile score is 6, the second quartile score is 10, the third quartile score is 16, and the highest score is 32. Some questions counted for more than 1 point. To ensure some level of privacy among students, we will not release more detailed statistics. In addition, graded tests will not be handed back and individual scores will not be released.
Please note that this is only an initial placement and depending on the performance throughout the program, students can (and will) be moved into different groups. Students are listed alphabetically by last name within each group. We look forward to coaching you guys starting September 17th; congratulations to all the students!
Based on study session performances and attitude towards learning, students can move between groups. The move is based on student's performance as indicated by index score as well as coaches' recommendation(s). The final decision is made by me. Please understand that I will not respond to parent/student request to move between groups.
Parent coordinator will contact the parents of qualified students with further information. Students who did not make the Redwood Middle School Math Club roster can opt to sign up for test-only track. For past couple of years, students from group other than Black qualified for Mathcounts Chapter Competition. Please study hard regardless of the group placement.
